Adelle Mortensen MFTI (She/They)
Adelle is an empathetic therapist who is deeply passionate about working with couples and families. She believes in the inherent strengths and resilience of each individual and emphasizes the importance of considering each client's cultural and personal perspectives in directing therapy. Adelle focuses on promoting self-compassion, fostering authentic relationships, and supporting personal autonomy. Additionally, they are committed to cultural sensitivity, trauma-informed care, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy.
Adelle graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Maintaining the President’s List as she completes her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, Adelle is also a member of the MFT Delta Kappa Honor Society. Adelle follows therapy modalities such as Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Experiential therapy.
During her undergraduate internship as a childcare clinician, Adelle developed a strong understanding of complex family dynamics, which fueled her desire to become a marriage and family therapist. She recognizes the significance of individual experiences as well as the connections between family, community, and broader systems. Adelle brings openness and curiosity to her work, helping clients explore new possibilities.
In her spare time, Adelle enjoys oil painting and visiting art museums for new inspiration.
